Turkey Museum Pass and Entrance Fees 2027: The Official Prices

Turkey Museum Pass and Entrance Fees 2027: The Official Prices

When the 2027 prices start

The new fees apply from 1 April 2027. Until then, the current 2026 prices stay in place. One exception is the Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum in Istanbul, which moves to its new price from 1 January 2027.

So if you're visiting in winter or in March 2027, you'll still pay today's prices. From April onwards, use the tables below.

MuseumPass prices: 2026 vs 2027

A MuseumPass is a card that gets you one entry to each covered museum and site within a set number of days, starting from your first visit.

A few rules are easy to miss. A pass gives one entry per site. It isn't valid for night museum visits, and some sites stop admitting pass holders before closing time. On the current card, for example, last entry at Galata Tower with a pass is 18:14.

Pamukkale

The Hierapolis–Pamukkale ticket goes from €30 today to €35 in 2027. It covers the travertine terraces and the ancient city of Hierapolis together. Nearby Laodikeia is €13. The ancient pool inside the site is run separately and isn't part of the museum ticket.

Ephesus

The main Ephesus ticket goes from €40 today to €45* in 2027 and still includes the Ephesus Experience Museum. The rest:

Combined tickets: the cheaper option many people miss

Does a MuseumPass pay off? Real 2027 maths

A pass only saves money if the sites you'll actually visit add up to more than the pass price within its validity. Here are four typical plans using the 2027 single-ticket prices, assuming each site is on the pass list (check the list on muze.gov.tr).

A week on the Antalya coast (Mediterranean pass, €100). Aspendos, Perge and Side with the combined ticket come to €40. Add a Pamukkale day and you're at €75, which is still less than the pass. Add a Myra and Demre day with St Nicholas and the total reaches €109. That's about €9 saved, and only if every visit falls within seven days.

Ephesus and Pamukkale (Aegean pass, €105). Ephesus, the Ephesus Museum, Hierapolis–Pamukkale and Laodikeia add up to €104. That's basically even. If you also want the Terrace Houses, the Ephesus four-site combined ticket (€72) plus the Pamukkale combined ticket (€45) comes to €117.

Three days in Cappadocia (Cappadocia pass, €75). Göreme, Zelve, Kaymaklı and Ihlara add up to €66, so single tickets are cheaper. Add Derinkuyu and it's €81, a saving of €6. The Dark Church needs its own ticket either way.

A two-week trip around Turkey (Türkiye pass, €185). Pamukkale, Ephesus, Aspendos, Perge, Myra, St Nicholas, Göreme and Kaymaklı come to €179. Below that number, buy single tickets. Above it, the pass starts to make sense.

The rule of thumb: add up your own list before you buy. If you're joining guided day tours, first check whether entrance fees are already included, so you don't pay twice.

Places that need a separate ticket

Some well-known spots sit inside or next to bigger sites but are priced on their own. In 2027 these include the Terrace Houses at Ephesus and the Dark Church at Göreme. The current Cappadocia pass states that it isn't valid at the Dark Church. For the Terrace Houses, Topkapı's Harem and Hagia Irene, check on muze.gov.tr or at the ticket desk before you rely on a pass.

How you pay, and who gets in free

  • You pay in Turkish lira.** The Ministry's rules say all ticket sales are in lira. Euro prices are converted at the Central Bank of Turkey's effective selling rate from the previous business day, so the lira amount changes a little from day to day.
  • Children aged 8 and under get in free** if they're foreign nationals. Bring a passport or ID for them. From age 8 to 18, foreign visitors pay the full foreign fee.
  • Euro-priced tickets and passes are for foreign visitors.** Turkish citizens can't buy them and use the lira tariff instead.
  • Buy from official channels.** That means the ticket desk on site or muze.gov.tr.
  • Opening hours change** between summer and winter. Check the site's page on muze.gov.tr the week you go rather than relying on hours you saw online months earlier.

Do ALYS tours include entrance fees?

It depends on the tour, and we'd rather you know before you book. This is what each tour page says today:

  • Ephesus day trip from Marmaris: the Ephesus entrance fee is not included.
  • Pamukkale and Hierapolis day tour from Side: the Pamukkale–Hierapolis and ancient pool entrances are not included. The balloon is an optional extra and only flies if the weather allows.
  • Red Tour Cappadocia: entrance fees to the listed attractions, such as Zelve, are included.
  • Green Tour Cappadocia: entrance fees to the listed attractions, including the underground city and Ihlara Valley, are included.
  • Demre, Myra and Kekova tour from Side: Myra and St Nicholas Church entrances are optional and not included. The Kekova boat section depends on sea conditions.
  • Istanbul tour with driver: museum entrance fees are not included.

Tour pages are updated over time, so check the "Included" and "Not Included" lists and the tour dates on the page itself.

Frequently asked questions

When do the new 2027 museum prices in Turkey start?

From 1 April 2027. The Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum in Istanbul changes earlier, on 1 January 2027. Until then, current prices apply.

How much is the Turkey MuseumPass in 2027?

MuseumPass Türkiye is €185 for 15 days. The regional passes are Istanbul €120 (5 days), Aegean €105 (7 days), Mediterranean €100 (7 days) and Cappadocia €75 (3 days).

How much is the Ephesus entrance fee in 2027?

€45 for foreign visitors, including the Ephesus Experience Museum and an audio guide. The Terrace Houses cost an extra €16, or you can buy Ephesus and the Terrace Houses together for €57.

How much does Pamukkale cost in 2027?

The Hierapolis–Pamukkale ticket is €35 for foreign visitors. The ancient pool inside the site is a separate payment.

Is the Turkey Museum Pass worth it?

Only if the covered sites you'll really visit cost more than the pass within its validity. For a week on the Antalya coast with a Pamukkale day, single tickets are usually cheaper. Adding Myra and Demre tips it slightly in the pass's favour.

Can I pay museum entrance fees in euros?

Prices are set in euros for foreign visitors, but you pay in Turkish lira at the previous business day's Central Bank selling rate.

Are children free at Turkish museums?

Foreign children aged 8 and under enter free with a passport or ID. Older children pay the foreign fee.
